THE LORD BLESS YOU

THE BLESSING

There’s nothing like the utterly dependable truth of the Bible in times like these. It’s always the best book to read, but even more so when there is a lot of uncertainty and difficulty.

These two videos moved me to tears. They are both of the same song - The Blessing. One version is South African, the other British. While the same, they are also different, reflecting the individual beauty of two different nations.

Kari Jobe co-wrote this song, along with her Elevation Worship friends - a month or so ago during the COVID 19 shutdown. She says “... because this song is based on scripture the message is timeless and we wanted to release it as quick as we could knowing the effect it could have on people’s hearts and spirits immediately, as it did ours.”

Written on a Thursday, sung on Sunday at the Elevation Ballantyne Campus the video of which has now had over 10 million views and climbing.

And then different nations pick up the song as we have linked to here:

The Blessing | UK

May you be blessed by these ancient words from somewhere around 1250BC where in Numbers 6 it reads 'The Lord said to Moses “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them...”'

And we now have these words being sung to us, over us and for us.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
